Balopi to attend ARLAC

The Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Mr Mpho Balopi, is scheduled to attend a virtual meeting of the 47B African Regional Labour Administration Centre (ARLAC) governing council tomorrow.
A press release from the ministry says ARLAC is a training institution made up of English speaking African countries.
ARLAC is mandated to strengthen labour administration systems in English speaking countries through training, research, consultancy and advisory services.
The release says the supreme authority of ARLAC is the governing council, which is made up of ministers responsible for labour, employment and manpower matters in member countries.
According to the release, the 47B ARLAC governing council meeting will discuss the 2020 audited financial report of the centre and member states will also be given an update on the status of ratification of Convention 190.
One of the highlights of the meeting will be the ministerial high level symposium on skills development and lifelong learning to be facilitated by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Mr Balopi’s delegation will include senior officials of the ministry.ENDS
