Dr Masisi to participate in virtual generation unlimited global leadership council meeting

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi will, on April 30, (today), participate in the virtual Generation Unlimited Global Leadership Council meeting.
A press release from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation says Dr Masisi was recently appointed as a Generation Unlimited (GenU) Global Leader. The release said Generation Unlimited was launched in 2018 at the United Nations General Assembly, as a multi-sector Public-Private-Youth Partnership.
“The Council meeting will bring together GenU leaders to, among others, discuss ways of forging global partnerships that enable youth worldwide to gain access to skills development and employment opportunities,” says the press release.
The press release further reveals that during the meeting, President Masisi will also address the Council on Botswana’s ongoing efforts to create entrepreneurship and employment opportunities for young people, as well as to advance youth development through initiatives such as SmartBots. Furthermore, President Masisi will inform on ways the country will utilise its leadership to champion the goals of Generation Unlimited, which include advocating for education, training and employment for young people by 2030.
President Masisi’s delegation comprises of Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Basic Education, Mr Fidelis Molao, Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, Dr Douglas Letsholathebe, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Tumiso Rakgare and senior government officials.
