Today World White Cane day

Botswana Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted (BABPS) will today commemorate World White Cane Day.
The event to be held at Gaborone’s Cresta Lodge, is organised in partnership with Coordinating Office for People with Disabilities and other institutions for the blind or visually impaired.
A BABPS media release says the commemoration’s objectives include raising awareness about the white cane and pedestrians using it.
Activities will also recognise abilities of people with visual impairment, says the release.
Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Kabo Morwaeng is expected to grace the event. ends
