Four MPs in Kenya

The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Education and Skills Development is in Kenya to benchmark on best practices on education.
A press release from the National Assembly stated that committee comprises four MPs, Messrs; Bagalatia Arone, Ngaka Ngaka, Rayner Makosha and Wynter Mmolotsi.
They are expected to be back home on September 21. Meanwhile the Public Accounts Committee was expected to sit from (Monday) September 16 to 20 to examine the value for money audit reports as required by standing order 105.3 of the National Assembly.
It further said the basis examination was to ensure compliance with the public Audit Act and Public Finance Act, other statutory instruments, financial institutions procedures, suppliers Regulations and procedures and any other applicable laws and regulations. The committee will hold its hearings in public.
The release said the committee would examine some of the for money audit reports: Provision of Extension services by the Department of Crop Production (Report No 4 of 2010); Maintenance of junior secondary schools by the Department of Technical Services (Report No 8 of 2011); and Procurement of medical equipment and surgical instruments by department of clinical services (Report No 10 of 2010).
Some of the members of the committee include among others Mr Nehemiah Modubule, Mr Kentse Rammidi, Mr Gilson Saleshando and Mr Samson Guma. Ends
