President Masisi appoints Mokaila Mangole envoys

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has appointed Mr Kitso Mokaila as the ambassador to the United States of America and Mr Gilbert Mangole as High Commissioner to India.
A press release from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, says Mr Mokaila has served as a Member of Parliament from 2004 to 2019.


It says during his political and parliamentary career, he served as minister under the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources and Minister of Transport and Communications.


It further states that prior to joining politics, Mr Mokaila served in the Botswana Defence Force from 1980-1988, after which he joined International Computers Limited where he served as managing director, Hyundai Motor Distributors as general manager and Unisys Botswana as managing director.


Mr Mokaila replaces Ambassador David Newman who has completed his tour of duty in United States of America in May 2020.


Furthermore the release indicates that Mr Mangole has served as a Member of Parliament from 2009 to 2019. 


It says before being elected as a Member of Parliament, he served as a councillor from 1999 to 2009. His employment career began at Bank of Botswana where he grew within the ranks serving first as statistical assistant, assistant research officer and assistant board secretary.


Mr Mangole replaces Ambassador Lesego Motsumi who completed her tour of duty in December 2019, and both appointments are effective upon assumption of duty. BOPA
