BDP suspends Majaga

The Botswana Democratic Party has suspended Nata/Gweta Member of Parliament, Mr Polson Majaga as a member of the party for 60 days pending investigations and/or disciplinary proceedings in light of charges laid against him.
A press release from the party’s communications and international relations committee says, ‘as a party that respects and upholds the rule of law, the BDP will allow Hon. Majaga to deal with the charges without prejudice and allow for completion of due processes of the law’.
Mr Majaga is being accused of defiling and impregnating a 16-year-old schoolgirl from Malelejwe cattlepost. He is currently out on bail and is scheduled to appear for mention before court on July 28. ENDS
