President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has appointed Dr Comma Serema Botswana High Commissioner to Namibia.
A press release from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation says Dr Serema is expected to take up his appointment next month.
He replaces Ms Claurinah Modise, who has served since 2013.
“Dr Serema has a wealth of experience gained from working in the public service and in academia,” it states. In the public service, the release says, he worked as assistant district officer in the Ministry of Local Government and Lands from 1991 to 1994 and as a senior research officer at the Parliament Library 1994-1996.
It further says he has served as a senior lecturer in the University of Botswana’s Department of Library and Information Studies.
Dr Serema has also been actively involved in community service and development and holds membership with a number of organisations. ENDs
