Leader of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), Advocate Duma Boko has implored Kgalagadi North constituents to vote in large numbers and in favour of UDC in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking during the launch of the Kgalagadi North prospective parliamentary candidate Mr Phillip Khwae and the eight council hopefuls in Kang on September 21, Adv. Boko said UDC was the party of choice for the majority, given the party’s pledge of sustainable job opportunities and decent wages.
He indicated that UDC was determined to drive the country’s economy and enhance it as part of the efforts to improve the welfare of the citizens.
Adv. Boko said UDC would come up with initiatives geared towards improving the lives of Batswana such the creation of 100 000 jobs in 12 months as he said part of their objective was to open the BCL mine to restore the 20 000 lost jobs.
This, he said, included taking advantage of the country’s rich mineral resources among others pan salts by ensuring that the country positioned itself to handle all the operations involved in the processing of the salt, thereby creating job opportunities in the country.
