Gospel awards set for Novermber

19 Sep 2019

The 2019 Annual Gospel Awards (AGA) will be held at Ba Isago Convention Centre on November 2.

Speaking at the nomination ceremony, one of the organisers Phempheretlhe Pheto said voting lines for the nominees had been opened and would be closed on November 1.

He encouraged artistes to be part of the awards, which were now in the second season in every way.

He said even if some, who were not nominated, they should be involved and learn more on how to improve in the coming years.

For his part, chief judge Seabe Raditladi said the level of individualism in the albums was impressive. He said artistes managed to reveal their true talent, especially in re-arranged songs.

He encouraged them to improve on their beat and lyrical cohesion as well as the match between the lead singer and backing singers.

Raditladi also urged artistes to take time when working on their albums and not rush to the studio.

He said creativity was key, and that artistes need to creatively package their album both in physical and musical terms.

He said consumers relied on the artiste to produce a creative album, which would be appealing to them.

Also, he encouraged producers to be creatively supportive especially in mastering, mixing and arranging the songs so that the whole product appealed to the listener.

Raditladi indicated that less than 10 entries were received in the music video category.

The artistes will be awarded on their musical albums as well as videos. ENDS
