AP urges Mahalapye west residents to vote wisely
09 Sep 2019
Members of The Alliance for Progressives (AP) in Mahalapye West have been urged to cast their vote wisely as it is a powerful tool towards addressing livelihoods challenges.
When launching Mahalapye West prospective parliamentary candidate Mr Tsholofelo Presto Sebele and prospective councillors on September 8, Mr Sedirwa Kgoroba cautioned the electorate to be cautious and use the power they have to their advantage.
He said the AP had in place, long term strategies that were aimed at serving the needs of the people. “We are conscious of situations where some political parties bait electorates with hand-outs for the sake of garnering votes only to abandon them after the elections,” said Mr Kgoroba.
He said there was no other political party that would serve the people of Mahalapye west better, unlike the AP which would have a sustainable strategy that fully addressed their challenges.
Mr Kgoroba said the AP government would continue providing for people through social safety nets and even make them better to serve their needs.
Mr Kgoroba said the AP government would also undertake a thorough assessment of the economy in an effort to make it more effective and serve the people better.
He further appealed to the electorate not to vote for a person based on family ties, friendship or any other social statues. Mr Kgoroba further advised them to vote for the AP government as its mandate was designed to serve all people equally.
He said the AP government was focused on improving levels of education, address challenges of poverty, unemployment and health services.
He said in the first five years after elections, the AP government would do enough for the people to guarantee it, another term in office.
Mr Kgoroba said the economy must be revitalised through industrialisation and produce enough goods and services to sustain its people as well as to export to other nations.
He said under the AP government the agriculture sector would be revived to fully provide for the people.
Meanwhile, AP prospective parliamentary candidate Mr Sebele said his party had assembled a team that was determined to fully serve the community of Mahalapye.
He said under the AP government, the farmers would be empowered to produce enough food to satisfy the people in the constituency. ENDs
