BPF urges voters to send Linga to Parliament
26 Aug 2019
Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) leader, Mr Biggie Butale has appealed to Nata/Gweta electorate to vote for their candidate, Mr Joe Linga during the com ing general election.
Speaking at the launch of the Nata/Gweta prospective parliamentary candidate in Nata, Mr Butale said there was no other candidate better than their candidate.
The Nata/Gweta constituency needs a leader with potential, who can deliver developments to the area and Mr Linga is the answer, he added.
Mr Butale described Mr Linga as a businessman and a farmer who possesses all the necessary leadership qualities to enable him to play a meaningful role in bringing developments to Nata/Gweta constituency.
During the 2014 general election, Mr Linga contested as an independent parliamentary candidate for the same constituency, and garnered 2 300 votes, thereby emerging the second runner to the incumbent MP, Mr Polson Majaga.
For his part, Mr Linga said he was hopeful that this year, he emerges victorious under the BPF ticket.
Mr Linga described himself as humble and obedient person who values other people’s opinions.
He pleaded with the constituents to vote for him so that he could turn their lives around and improve their livelihoods.
Mr Linga said it was important that when youth were given empowerment programmes, they should be attached to the older people who could inspire and lead them to success.
The BPF parliamentary prospective candidate said most the youth businesses had collapsed because of lack of support from successful people in such fields.
He said when elected, he would advocate for youth partnership with the elderly people to bring a voice of reason and guidance.
Representing the youth, Mr Otlaadisa Phemelo said with the vast natural resources and tourism attractions in the country, the constituency could be ranked among the best tourism destinations.
He noted that much had not been done for Nata/Gweta residents to benefit from the natural resources. Ends
