Saleshando urges Shashe West to vote UDC

Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) deputy leader, Mr Dumelang Saleshando, has urged Shashe West to vote for the party’s prospective parliamentary candidate who boasts of experience as a personnel officer under agriculture department.
Speaking at the launch of Mr Alfred Mashungwa as UDC parliamentary candidate for Shashe West on August 22, Mr Saleshando said many farmers along Shashe River engaged in horticulture and they needed support from someone like the UDC candidate to turn them into well-established farmers.
He said UDC had proposed to increase the old age pension allowance to P1 500.
Mr Saleshando said UDC would also build roads for easy access of tourism destinations, adding that roads could catalase other developments and help improve the economy. Another speaker, Mr
Vain Mamela said there were many opportunities, which UDC would tap into and create jobs for Batswana, a reason why UDC was promising 100 000 jobs in a year.
One of the speakers, Mr Tlhabologo Furniture said Batswana should elect people with potential so that at parliament they would be appointed to portfolio committees based on qualifications.
He said Batswana had lost their agricultural produce due to natural disasters, hence UDC intending to introduce agriculture insurance.
For his part, Mr Mashungwa said Shashe West constituents should put their trust in him and together with the a team of councillors they would work hard for development in the constituency. ENDS
