Nkange constitutes have been implored to continue voting the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) in order to maintain continuity of developments in their constituency.

Speaking at the BDP candidates launch of aspiring MP Mr Ishmael Mokgethi  and a team of prospective council candidates for the 2019 general election on August 10, the Vice President Mr Slumber

Tsogwane said the BDP-led government had brought visible developments which Batswana continued to appreciate and enjoy.

He said for them to continue seeing such progress, they should not be deceived by anything thrown at them by the opposition.

He added that his party was committed to its vision and mission of taking Botswana to greater heights with the aim to uplift the lives of Batswana.

The vice president, also chairperson of the BDP, highlighted that for the short period the President had been leading this county, he managed to attract investors from across the world.

He said such investors were committed to investing in the country and creating employment for Batswana.

In addition, he stated that the opposition were promising Batswana high figures of employment without qualifying how they were going to create such jobs.

He thus urged the democrats to be wise when they vote and remember the good deeds BDP government has done for them.

He further noted that during recession back in 2008, many countries laid off their employees, but under the BDP-led government such did not happen and the country pulled through the tough times.

He pointed out that over the years under their leadership of BDP, the country had experienced outbreaks of Foot and Mouth disease in many places, noting the country managed to combat the disease to the extent that it became a global model for the fight against FMD.

He therefore appealed to the democrats and other Batswana to vote for the BDP for it had a traceable record leading this country.

Outgoing Member of Parliament Mr Edwin Batshu said at the last election in 2014, he promised that BDP government would work hard to bring developments.

He cited Tutume infrastructure development project, which he said did not come only as development, but created employment for Batswana in the area.

Meanwhile the campaign manager Mr Kagiso Public explained that in 2009 and 2014, a total of 14 567 and 15 196 registered to vote respectively and this year a record of 18 875 was expected to vote, adding that he was confident a good number of votes would be in their favour.

Appreciating the support from his predecessor and party, Mr Mokgethi promised the Nkange electorate that they should vote him and the team of prospective council candidates.

He said they were working tirelessly to win all the 10 wards including three wards currently held by opposition. Ends
