Tsogwane optimistic of support growth

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) chairman, Mr Slumber Tsogwane says he is confident that the party will grow its popular support from 47 per cent to over 60 per cent at the general elections scheduled for October.
Mr Tsogwane was welcoming delegates at the party's national council held in Kang.
He told the council that while some people believed that the process of electing leadership would be marred by chaos, the party has however emerged from its extraordinary national congress a united force, stonger as well as energised as it prepares for the general elections.
"What prevailed in Kang is a direct opposite as President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi was confirmed as BDP leader without any hiccups," he said.
President Masisi will now lead the party in the country's general elections in October. ENDS
