Nkange prepares for general elections
14 Aug 2013
Nkange constituency Party Liaison Committee (PLC) has been advised to acquaint itself with its boundary descriptions, polling districts and polling stations.
Addressing the committee in Tutume on August 8, the senior electoral officer of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Mr Andrew Seutwetse said they should know these because they were important to the voters.
Mr Seutwetse said the general registration of voters starts on October 4 to 27, including weekends, and urged the committee to disseminate the information.
He said they had already placed adverts for people to apply for posts of registration officers, adding 100 people would be hired in the constituency with two supervisors.
He urged the politicians to stop confusing voters by registering them in wrong polling districts.
He noted that if they work as a team, they would achieve their goal and would not have issues and challenges that arise during the end and after elections.
He told the committee about the electoral processes, which include registration, duplicate cards and transfers, noting that transfers are done on the certified roll. ENDS
