Serowe Administrative Authority (SAA) Sub-district Council today ousted Mr Mpho Keoreme as its chairperson via a motion of no confidence.

Nominated councillor, Mr Gaotilwe Omphile, tabled the motion during a sub-council meeting in Serowe. He was seconded by nominated councillor, Mr Kaisara Mfila.

Out of the 23 councillors, 17 voted for the motion while 5 were against and 1 councilor abstained.

Councilor Omphile tabled the motion on grounds that the chairperson never consulted fellow councillors on issues affecting them.

He said Mr Keoreme was not working well with Central District Council chairperson, Mr Peter Williams, adding that they had been writing letters to each other because of their misunderstanding. 

The acting sub-council chairperson is Councillor Atamelang Thaga who has been Mr Keoreme’s deputy.  ends
