Progressives training programme starts
28 Nov 2018
Leader of Alliance for Progressives (AP) Mr Ndaba Gaolathe on November 24 launched a training programme aimed at empowering party candidates and their campaigning teams.
The launch was held in Letlhakeng in the Kweneng District.
Mr Gaolathe highlighted that the training was aimed at empowering party members and provide strategic ways on how campaigns should be conducted.
Mr Gaolathe challenged AP members to understand that it is their responsibility as member to work hard and impress Batswana if they aspire for support from the nation.
He said it was important that AP to be up-to-date with issues that negatively impact on the lives of the citizens and come up with solutions for a progressive Botswana.
AP leader outlined what he termed ‘strategic thrust; that requires members to have faith on what they are doing and be able to achieve goals of having a better Botswana, which can be realised by those with knowledge.
He said for the party to achieve set goals, it has to be financially stable to be able to reach out to all Batswana as well as to be a communicative institution where individual’s voice is equally important, and not expecting everything from the leadership.
He emphasised the need to work towards bringing change and ‘present yourselves in the manner that will make people understand you are AP.
Shun cheap politics of character assassination.
It is through individual commitment and dedication that AP can score impressively as we continue to portray ourselves in the manner that will help lure extensive support,” advised AP leader.
He further challenged members to take part in activities geared towards growing the party.
“Do not align politics to individuals as politics is a game for us all.
Avoid attacking others and apply yourselves brilliantly,” advised Mr Gaolathe.
Meanwhile, Dr Margaret Nasha, AP’s presidential advisor, also a leader in a team of four responsible for the nationwide party’s educational campaign, stated that the party would be engaging with members at regional level to impart knowledge and set strategic roles aimed at guiding operations during election campaign.
“We need to have knowledgeable members who will properly represent us and operate within the set rules and be able to properly represent the mandate of (AP),” stated Dr Nasha.
Kweneng regional chairperson, Mr Boipuso Dikgang urged members to work hard on ensuring winnable MP constituencies and council ward are won. ENDS
