People who want to apply for school under  the back to school initiative, have up to March 29 to submit applications, Shoshong MP, Mr Dikgang Makgalemela informed residents of Mokgenene, Poloka and Otse.

Addressing kgotla meetings in the three villages, Mr Makgalemela said the initiative catered for four groups of people: those who wanted to go back to the classroom, who wanted to enroll in trade and testing schools, those who wanted to enroll in distance learning and those who had certificates and wanted to upgrade.

Furthermore, he explained that those aged 11 years and below were eligible for primary school, 18 years and below  for junior secondary school, those 25 years and below for senior secondary school while the cut of years for tertiary institution was 35 years.

He said the back to school initiative was a pilot project expected to last for three year.

Mr Makgalemela also encouraged those that fell outside the back to school bracket to utilise other initiatives to improve their education status. ENDS
