President Khama BDP members have been urged to work extra hard to ensure they deliver on the obligations and election promises while working for party cohesion towards 2019 and beyond.

Speaking at the 16th Botswana Democratic Party National Women’s Wing Congress in Maun under the theme, "Empowered and United for 2019 #Goya Goileng," President Khama said there was need to ensure party structures were alive and fully functional.

He said democrats had to ensure that every structure and every member was challenged to ensure the pursuit to govern further for the next half century was achieved.

Meanwhile, through the powers invested in him, President Khama gave the party chairman, who is also the Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi an opportunity to greet the gathering.

Mr Masisi urged women to lead in the recruitment drive, adding that they have a strong voice and the zeal to bring life to the party.

He said women are bets at reprimanding unacceptable behaviour and those who go against the laid down party rules and regulations.

He said the party pride itself with the determination, commitment demonstrated by women in driving the mandate of the party.

He also emphasised unity and teamwork amongst all the fellow democrats. ENDS
