Botswana welcomes Dutch election results

The Government of the Republic of Botswana welcomes the emerging outcome of the recent elections held in the Netherlands, which indicate support for Parties that encourage the sanctity of the fundamental values of democracy, equality and tolerance, as well as promote the unity of the European Union.
It is also encouraging to observe that the majority of the people of the Netherlands have demonstrated rejection of xenophobic tendencies. Botswana therefore, remains hopeful that the international community will continue to do all in its power to combat xenophobia in all its forms and uphold the universal values of democracy, equality and tolerance.
