Some party members came bearing gifts of maize and sweet reed for President Khama.

He said it was the President’s third time to visit the region.

He said they were satisfied that the structure were active and were also delighted with the number of members who turned-up for the in-house meeting.

Mr Kgathi said the good turnout was an indication that members were keen to move the party forward.

He said members were concerned with losing Palapye council bye elections, one of their strongholds and wanted to see change in the 2019 general elections.

He said all regions were preparing ahead of the 2019 elections, noting that the BDP agenda was packed.

Mr Kgathi said the party was also preparing for the Women’s Wing national congress slated for March 17-18 in Maun and would be an elective congress.
