Botswana Police Service disassociates itself from a Botswana Gazette article entitled “I am a police officer frustrated by magistrates and DPP.”

We are in this respect concerned by the fact that an article published in the Botswana Gazette newspaper of Wednesday 27th July to 2nd August 2016 on page 12 was juxtaposed with a picture of the Commissioner of Police, Mr Keabetswe Makgophe which could lead members of the public to the false conclusion that the Commissioner was responsible for the said article.

In this respect we wish to make it absolutely clear that neither the Commissioner of Police himself nor any of his immediate subordinates or staff are in any way responsible for the article.
Furthermore Botswana Police Service categorically disassociates itself from the views expressed in the article. We therefore request a retraction and unconditional apology from Botswana Gazette newspaper. Ends
