The new Botswana National Front (BNF) secretary general, Mr Moeti Mohwasa has thanked the party’s past central committee for its sterling performance.
Addressing a press briefing in Gaborone on July 22, Mr Mohwasa said the past leadership’s experience and wisdom would be vital in taking the party to new levels.
He said the newly elected leadership led by BNF leader, Mr Duma Boko, assisted by Rev. Prince Dibeela would ensure that the party stayed focused.
Furthermore, BNF secretary general said, “the recently elected leadership will be there to lend a hand, as we traverse through this challenging journey.”
For his part, Rev. Dibeela said BNF was as united as a party could ever be united.
“We have come out of Francistown a united BNF. If for some reason people thought the old BNF of divisions is back, because of lobbies or little hiccup we had during the election processes you can be assured that, that was only a glitch,” he said.
For that reason, he said BNF’s contribution to the Umbrella for Democratic Change and to the transition that was happening in the country would be a formidable one.
The purpose of the press conference was to share the outcomes of BNF’s 17th national elective congress with members of the media.
The meeting was also meant to officially introduce BNF’s newly elected national executive committee to members of the media. Ends
