Molale pledges to revive BDP structures

19 Jul 2016

Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Eric Molale, has implored Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members to stand united, introspect and revive organisational structures before the 2019 general elections.
Mr Molale was addressing political rallies at Mmakgori and Leporung in Good Hope/Mabule constituency on Juy 18.
He pledged to revive party structures in build-up for the 2019 general elections and donated blankets and wheel burrows to the elders.
Mr Molale, also Specially Elected MP, said Good Hope/Mabule constituency was originally a BDP stronghold, hence the need to revive the party structures. He said they were conducting evaluations to establish why they lost the constituency, adding that the BDP should be able to win back the constituency from opposition parties.
He stressed that BDP structures must be resuscitated as well as revisiting the basics of building structures into a team.
He said they had to reassure and affirm to Batswana that there was still no alternative and that they were still the best party to move Botswana forward.
He pointed that political education should be intensified while structures and inner party general membership meetings should also be stepped up.
He further cautioned that BDP would not do well in the 2019 general elections without full support from every member.
Another speaker Mr Oganne Mazwigwila told the gathering that BDP government was not in a habit of making empty promises.
He said he regretted being a member of opposition party the reason why he joined the BDP.
Mr Mazwigwila said the BDP kept the promises they made to Batswana because they are realistic and has improved people‘s lives through programmes.
Mr Climate Mmope expressed worry that there were opposition parties who like to criticise whatever the president does.
He said they have voted opposition parties during the bye-elections in Goodhope/Mabule constituency but they were now concerned about the health of their Member of Parliament. ENDS
