Councillor for Philip Matante East in Francistown, Mr Shadreck Nyeku (53) has passed on. Cllr Nyeku (53), who was also Botswana Movement for Democracy's (BMD) Francistown regional chairperson and former Francistown mayor died Monday night.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Francistown South, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi confirmed Mr Nyeku’s passing at Block 3 Park, where he was supposed to address a kgotla meeting on Tuesday.

He said Mr Nyeku was addressing a BMD regional meeting at Phatsimo Primary School on Monday evening where he collapsed while still on the platform.

MP Mmolotsi explained that they then quickly rushed him to Area W Clinic hospital where he was certified dead.

He said the nation had lost a community developer, a focal person and true legend, noting that the late councillor held different position within politics. Ends
