The Southern District Council (SDC) chairperson has congratulated President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama on his recent appointment as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) chairperson.

Mr Mephato Reatile said during the on-going full council meeting in Kanye that the position will afford Botswana an opportunity to share its good governance principles with other countries across the region. 

The chairperson further applauded the President for what he described as a well deserved Transformational Leadership award for the 2015 African Muzik Magazine Awards(AFRIMMA).

The award is in recognition of President Khama’s contribution to the development of arts and culture in the country. 

Mr Reatile also congratulated Kgosi Lotlaamoreng on his victory as the new Member of Parliament (MP) for the Good Hope-Mabule constituency.  

He has furthermore welcomed the newly appointed Southern District commissioner Mr Mmoloki Raletobana to the district.  

He said Mr Raletobana brings with him a wealth of experience to the public service. Ends
