Congress party leader roots for Maruping

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) leader, Mr Dumelang Saleshando and other party members have implored the voters in the Good Hope-Mabule constituency to rally behind their parliamentary candidate Mr Comfort Maruping for the August 15 bye elections.
Launching the BCP candidate at Phitshane Molopo on Sunday, Mr Saleshando said the support and vote that Mr Maruping would get from the constituents will give the BCP the chance to fix the challenges faced by Borolong residents.
He said Mr Maruping is the rightful candidate for the constituency since he is conversant with the challenges faced by the constituents.
He also said Mr Maruping is well experienced in politics as he has long served in the party from his youthful days as member of a youth league.
Mr Saleshando said Mr Maruping has proven to be a true leader as he performed party duties with due diligence.
The Good Hope – Mabule constituency, he said is faced with challenges such as poor academic performance and lack of job opportunities for the youth.
He said voters should vote for Mr Maruping because the party has put in place policies that are meant to correct the situation.
Another speaker, former women’s wing committee member Ms Nono Kgafela-Mokoka urged constituents to vote for Mr Maruping as their member of parliament in order to give him a chance to advocate for their constituency as the state of the development in the constituency is not pleasing.
She said the Good Hope-Mabule constituency has been deprived of many developments and therefore the need for a strong leader like Mr Maruping .
Ms Kgafela-Mokoka said BCP is ready to lead and bring positive changes in the employees’ welfare by advocating for them to be paid decent wages.
She said Botswana is endowed with a lot of wealth and that employees should not be living in abject poverty, instead they could be working under desirable environments fostering delivery.
For his part, Mr Maruping pleaded with the constituents to vote for him in the coming bye - elections.
He said he is willing to run the race and if voted into parliament, he will advocate for Barolong to be detached from Bangwaketse chieftaincy. He also said he will advocate for change of landboard name from Rolong landboard to Barolong landboard for them to feel that they wholly own it.Moreover, he said he will advocate for the revival of agricultural production in the area since the area was a food basket for the nation in the yester years.
