UDC canvasses for votes in Phitshane Molopo

Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) secretary general, Mr Gilbert Mangole, has implored voters in the Good Hope/Mabule constituency to vote for Umbrella Democratic Party (UDC) candidate, Lotlaamoreng II during the August 15 bye-election.

Addressing a political rally in Phitshane Molopo on Saturday July 25, Mr Mangole said Lotlaamoreng II was the right candidate because he was conversant with challenges in the constituency.

Mr Mangole urged electorates across the  political divide to rally behind Kgosi Lotlaamoreng II for dignity and integrity of the constituency.

He said when UDC assumes power in 2019; they would review the country’s constitution.

The Kgatleng West MP also urged the youth to exercise their rights by voting for the UDC candidate.

Another speaker, Mr Dimpho Mashaba said Kgosi Lotlaamoreng II was a performance-oriented person.   Mr Mashaba said the  constituency was hard hit by high unemployment rate.

He said BDP had been in power for 49 years, but the country still faced shortage of water and electricity as well as health service delivery issues. For her apart, Ms Dorcas

Mothusi encouraged women to vote in favour of the UDC parliamentary candidate. She however advised the constituents to avoid being enticed with money .

Another speaker, Mr Lemme Kgopa urged voters to keep their registration and national identity cards safely.

Mr Kgopa said those who lost their cards should contact Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) office for duplicates.

For his part, Kgosi Lotlaamoreng II pleaded with constituents to vote for him on August 15.

He said their constituency had been deprived many developments and the situation needed a strong and focused leader to elevate their grievances.

Lotlaamoreng said he was the rightful candidate as he knew challenges of the constituency. ENDS
