Good Hope-Mabule by-election August 15

The Good Hope-Mabule parliamentary bye-election is scheduled for August 15.
According to a press statement from the secretary of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Mr Gabriel Seeletso, President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama issued a writ of election on Wednesday (July 8) ordering the holding of a bye-election for Member of Parliament for the constituency.
Mr Seeletso stated that nominations of candidates for election in the aforesaid constituency shall be received on July 24 from 9am to 1pm and from 2.30pm and 5pm at Good Hope Senior Secondary School.
The constituency fell vacant after Mr James Mathokgwane resigned as MP for the constituency last month. The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) won the constituency in the 2014 General Elections. Ends
