Khama applauds party members

President Lt Seretse Khama Ian Khama has hailed some Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members for their dedication and commitment.
Top on the list was the outgoing party chairman Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe who was described as an anchor of support for the party and was awarded a certificate of appreciation.
“As my vice president and then chairman, he was truly an anchor of support and dedicated to this country and its people and this party,” President Khama lauded Dr Kedikilwe who is affectionately called PHK.
Dr Kedikilwe has ended his active political engagement with BDP after many years of stellar performance both for the party and the country at large.
He has served as a minister at various ministries and has produced Kedikilwe commission on education.
Though having quit active politics, President Khama is of strong belief that PHK will continue serving Batswana as is the norm.
Even though he is not a member of the central committee, Mr Parks Tafa was hailed for dedicating a lot of his time and resources in various roles for the party despite not being well.
The president wished him well.
Third to be appreciated was party secretary general Mr Mpho Balopi who branded the party, promoted its interests, used his own resources in doing so.
He is said to have improved BDP relations with regional political parties.
“I found him so energetic, helpful and committed to this party,” President Khama said of Mr Balopi and urged him to continue channeling his energies towards the party. Ends
