Moatlhodi urges Batswana to vote for UDC

22 Oct 2014

Tonota South parliamentary candidate for the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), Mr Pono Moatlhodi has implored Batswana to vote for all the party’s candidates in the general elections.

Speaking at a star rally in Francistown South constituency recently, Mr Moatlhodi said UDC was the only party that was serious about bringing solutions to problems such as unemployment.

He said if voted, the UDC would ensure that industries were opened using the existing resources. Mr Moatlhodi said the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) had prolonged the problems faced by Batswana by failing to come up with programmes that would be better than Ipelegeng.

He said his party would upgrade all colleges of education from offering diploma to degree courses and graduates would not only be employed locally but would be able to compete globally for employment opportunities. Mr Moatlhodi urged Batswana to emulate the Zambians and change the government for the country’s economic growth.

Francistown South parliamentary candidate, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi encouraged voters to vote for the UDC in large numbers saying unlike other political parties, its candidates are competent.

He said the UDC would improve the working conditions in the public service, expedite allocation of plots and improve service delivery in health facilities by motivating the health workers through improved payments and conditions of service.

Mr Robert Maposa encouraged voters to elect Mr Mmolotsi as he has proved to be capable and his representation has been outstanding.

He said Mr Mmolotsi is the only political leader who showed solidarity to workers when they were on a strike in 2011.

At the same rally, the members of the UDC lit flying lanterns in remembrance of the late BMD leader, Mr Gomolemo Motswaledi. ENDS
