Lobatse Town Council (LTC) mayor, Ms Caroline Lesang, has thanked councillors for having afforded her the opportunity to serve the community.

She noted that she was elected to the position in 2009 and her election as Lobatse mayor showed that the councillors had confidence and faith in her abilities.

Speaking during a farewell dinner in Lobatse last week, she said the job gave her a comparative advantage of directly interacting with people, which enabled her to make an impact in many people’s lives.

Although she said her tenure in office coincided with the economic recession, she was happy that her council had completed all the projects they had set out to do. Ms Lesang said it was not easy to do the projects working on a shoe string budget. She also thanked the council staff for their cooperative efforts.

She said she was happy that councillors, regardless of party affiliation, worked together as a unit. ENDS
