Botswana Congress Party (BCVP) leader, Mr Dumelang Saleshando says his party will not spare those who have committed corruption.
He said such individuals would be tried at courts of law to recover what belonged to the nation. Speaking during a star rally in Mabeleng/Dandane ward in Bobonong constituency on October 5, he said the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) was tolerating corruption and said his party would ensure those that committed economic crimes would face the wrath of the law.
Mr Saleshando visited the Bobonong constituency to canvass votes for parliamentary candidate Mr Taolo Lucas and his councillors. He said since BDP had failed to create employment for Batswana, BCP was ready to take power and use natural resources to create enough jobs.
Mr Saleshando also stated that foreign companies were also awarded tenders for mega projects such as dams and other projects while locals were sidelined. He said Batswana had many problems and now saw BCP worthy of a vote, and pleaded with voters to vote for Mr Lucas together with his councillors.
He described Mr Lucas as a capable candidate who was also committed to the party. Another speaker Kanye North parliamentary candidate Mr Kentse Rammidi said if voted into power BCP would transform Bobirwa sub district into a full district to make it autonomous.
Mr Lucas urged voters to keep their essential documents for voting being a valid Omang and voter registration cards safe and vote for BCP on 24 October General elections.
He said BCP would wrestle the constituency out of BDP, which he said failed to develop the constituency. Mr Lucas also BCP publicity secretary said Babirwa were no longer a proud tribe because they lost all their cattle to Foot and Mouth Disease and drought which the ruling BDP has failed to address.
The cordon fence that ran along Shashe River, he said was in a sorry state making FMD to re-occur in the area and said BCP would electrify the fence to control the disease as well as movement of illegal immigrants that also contribute to the spread.
Also what he mentioned as cause for concern was the Bobonong Primary Hospital which he said was dilapidated and experience shortage of wards and blankets and urged voters to vote BCP to remedy the situation. Ends
