Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) president, Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama has implored the constituents of Kgalagadi South to rectify the mistake that they had made in the last general elections by voting for the opposition.
Addressing a star rally in Tsabong on September 26, President Khama told the constituents of Kgalagadi South to vote for BDP parliamentary candidate, Mr Frans Van der Westhuisen and council candidates in the upcoming general elections.
He told them that they should trust Mr Van Der Westhuisen with their votes because he is capable of representing them well.
“Van Der Westhuisen always advocates for development in the constituency such as a better primary hospital, which we will upgrade in the next financial year, small stock abattoir, which is on the way and special ISPAAD, which we have already spent P20 million on by buying small stock for you,” he said.
He went on to point out that through the advocacy of Mr Van Der Westhuisen, they have started re-equipping old boreholes so that residents can water livestock and also re-unifying Tsabong Junior Secondary, adding that residents should feel free to say how they would like to be helped as government is prepared to help them.
The President encouraged constituents to take care of their identity and voter registration cards and also make sure that their Omang cards are valid so that they can be able to vote, come October 24.
Different speakers at the rally concurred with the President that the ruling party is the only party that they can trust as it has programmes that can take the country forward. ENDS
