The Botswana Democratic Party’s (BDP) able and visionary leadership has made Botswana, an envy of many countries, Member of Parliament for Moshupa and also presidential affairs Minister Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi has said.

Mr Masisi who was speaking at the BDP Kanye South Region women’s dinner said his government truly and equally cared for Batswana, and had introduced many poverty eradication programmes to uplift every citizen’s life.

MP Masisi said it was therefore important for Batswana to make full use of such programmes to better their lives. He added that elders, who continued to receive their monthly pension were recently given blankets and radios.    

He urged women to support other woman politicians to contribute to the country’s economy, politics and other areas, as their male counterparts.

On security, Mr Masisi said government established the Directorate of Intelligence and Security to safeguard Batswana and their interests from foreign threat, and that Batswana should not be suspicious of the organisation.  Mr Masisi pledged P5 000 for the region. ENDS
