Gaolathe canvasses for votes in Boteti West

03 Sep 2014

Deputy leader of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), Mr Ndaba Gaolathe, has urged members of the party and Batswana in general to honour the late Mr Gomolemo Motswaledi with their votes during the upcoming October elections.

Mr Gaolatlhe, who is also the leader of Botswana Movement for Democracy, said this on August 30 in Rakops during the launch of the prospective parliamentary candidate for Boteti West, Mr Sam Digwa and council hopefuls.

He implored them to encourage their family members and relatives to honour Mr Motswaledi by voting UDC so as to continue his legacy. Mr Gaolathe urged UDC members to vote for Mr Digwa as “he is learned and equipped with skills adequate enough to represent you in Parliament.”

For his part, the Maun West prospective parliamentary candidate, Mr Tawana Moremi said, “when in power, the UDC will ensure transparency in government and abolish oppressive laws.”

Another speaker, the UDC prospective parliamentary candidate for Maun East, Mr Osimilwe Fish informed Boteti West residents that Mr Digwa will address issues of poverty and shortage of water if sent to Parliament.

For his part, Mr Digwa informed voters that, if elected to Parliament, he would represent them well on issues affecting their welfare, citing saline water and the need to turn Boteti into a fully-fledged district. ENDS
