Ditiro lobbies for votes

17 Aug 2014

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) prospective candidate for Nata/Gweta constituency has made a plea to the electorate in the area to do the right thing by voting him and his party at the October 24 general elections.

Dr Ditiro Majadibodu said despite being a tourist destination area, Nata remained a dusty place, which seemed not to be recognised for the vital role it played in the economy.

Dr Majadibodu said it was in their constituency where salt deposits were found and were supposed to have created many employment opportunities for the inhabitants of the area.

He noted that was not the case since the government under the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) had decided rather to give the salt processing to another country to create employment for its people.

Dr Majadibodu noted that industries should have been set in their area where the product could be turned into a finished product and then be exported to bring in revenue for the country.

He therefore appealed to voters to vote him to parliament so that he could be in a better position to fight for the jobs taken to neighbouring countries.

In addition, Dr Majadibodu promised electorates that if they could take him to parliament he was also going to fight for the constituency to have proper water suitable to be consumed by the people just like in other areas.

He wondered why Nata/Gweta was not supplied with water from Ntimbale dam since it was nearer, noting that if the BDP government had managed to set up a water pipeline from Letsibogo dam to distribute water in the southern part, it should not be difficult to do that for their constituency.

Presenting Dr Majadibodu as their prospective candidate to the people of Nata/Gweta, BCP publicity secretary and also a prospective candidate for Bobirwa constituency Mr Taolo Lucas said their party had remained true to their commitment of wanting a better Botswana for all.

He added that it was for that reason they stood out as a party without any disturbances, while other political parties were experiencing infightings amongst the members.

Mr Lucas said their party targeted 29 constituencies and appealed to the people of Nata/Gweta to make sure the constituency was one of those. Ends
