BCP sets eyes on Mmadinare

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) prospective parliamentary candidate for Lentsweletau-Mmopane, Mr Phagenyane Phage has pleaded with Mmadinare constituents to vote for BCP so as to bring developments in the constituency.
Even though the constituency had been under the ruling Botswana Democratic Party since independence, Mr Phage said there were no developments to write home about.
He was speaking during the launch of BCP prospective parliamentary candidate, Mr Christopher Motshwarapheko and councillors in Mmadinare on Saturday. He said BCP had plans to bring the much needed developments.
Mr Phage said the party was ready to address the problem of shortage of residential plots in the area. Therefore, he said Mr Motshwarapheko was the perfect candidate to do that through well thought BCP land policies.
Another speaker at the launch, BCP parliamentary hopeful for Selebi Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Koorapetse also urged residents to vote for Mr Motshwarapheko saying his party had reasonable affirmative action policies for the youth, women and those living with disability.
He said BCP was the only party which involved the youth in drafting its manifesto and thus making sure that they too had an input in coming up with policies that could benefit the entire disadvantaged cadre .
Mr Koorapetse said they believed that education should be fair and compulsory adding that they would ensure that the student teacher ratio was reasonable just like in private schools.
For his part, Mr Motshwarapheko told residents that if given a chance he would ensure that he served them well.
He said his plan was not to contest for the upcoming general elections as he had lost twice to the incumbent Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe but since the constituents persuaded him to try his luck again, if he won he would make sure that he put their interests first.
“My plan is to better your lives, the constituency is full of mineral resources such as copper and nickel and if given a chance we will make sure that we create jobs by setting up processing plants in the area to create jobs for you,” he said.
He further said as BCP they believed that education was the best weapon that could be used to fight porvety and as such should be given priority over all else. ENDS
