Vote BCP in large numbers - Saleshando
06 Aug 2014
The president (leader) of Botswana Congress Party (BCP) Mr Dumelang Saleshando asked voters in Mochudi West Constituency to vote for BCP in large numbers during the upcoming elections to be held in October.
Speaking during the launch of the BCP Mochudi West Constituency parliamentary candidate Mr Alfred Ramono Pilane and his councillors, Mr Saleshando implored electorates to make sure BCP wins elections because they have better programmes which will build a better future for Batswana.
He said Mr Pilane is a man who has immense experience in leadership as he has held a high position in government especially in the agricultural sector. Mr Saleshando said the parliamentary candidate has all the calibre of an aspired leader who will not disappoint but rather deliver as sent by people.
He further said Mr Pilane was among candidates identified to lead the agricultural ministry when BCP gets into power. He added that because of his experience, he was among people who were called by parliament to help advice on what could be done to help Botswana Meat Commission during the time when things were not going well.
The BCP president said Mr Pilane needs to be accorded a chance to go to parliament as he is an able leader who is in a better party that can change the lives of Batswana. Mr Saleshando said everything is set for Botswana Congress Party to lead this country but stressed that it was important to voters to make sure they vote for BCP every one of them.
For his part, Mr Pilane decried lack of development in Mochudi west constituency which makes the lives of people difficult. He said for people who reside in villages such as Kgomodiatshaba and Dikgonnye, life was even more difficult due to bad state of roads.
Mr Pilane said lack of infrastructure continue to frustrate Bakgatla as they continue to use an old hospital which is worn out while other areas benefit from better hospitals. He further said Mochudi main kgotla offices have been condemned by department of buildings and officers use tents but nothing better have been provided so far to help them.
Mr Pilane said unemployment is very high in the area and needs to be addressed adding that he has often asked that those who want to undertake other projects along Notwane river besides horticulture should be accorded such an opportunity to do so.
He asked voters to vote for him so that he can assist people who want to start businesses along Notwane River but have been denied that without concrete reasons.
The Mochudi West constituency will be contested by three parliamentary candidates being Botswana Congress Party’s Ramono Pilane, Botswana Democratic Party’s Unity Dow and Umbrella for Democratic Change’s Gilbert Mangole. ENDS
