24 Jul 2014
Member of Parliament for Molepolole South, Mr Daniel Kwelagobe has urged Nata/Gweta constituents to rally behind Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary candidate in the coming general elections.
Mr Kwelagobe was speaking during the launch of the BDP parliamentary candidate, Mr Polson Majaga and seven council candidates for Nata/Gweta constituency in Nata.
Mr Kwelagobe said since independence the BDP has had uninterrupted reign in the constituency hence the reason why it was called a BDP stronghold.
He further noted that BDP had a good track record which one could follow and warned democrats to avoid people who could mislead them.
He said parliamentary candidate, Mr Majaha was a youthful candidate who would sell the party’s manifesto and assist in developing the country.
However, he warned Mr Majaha not to compare himself with former MPs but rather carry the baton from where they had left and bring the development in the constituency.
Another speaker, MP for Nkange and also Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Mr Edwin Batshu pleaded with the residents to vote for Mr Majaha and the council candidates.
Mr Batshu said voting for opposition would be suicidal and urged them to avoid committing the mistake. For his part, Mr Majaha said he was ready to serve people of Nata/Gweta and to advocate for the upliftment of their living standards. ENDS
