BCP woos Kgatleng East voters
16 Jul 2014
Electorates have been asked to vote for the parliamentary candidate for Mochudi East, Mr Isaac Mabiletsa and his councillors in large numbers in the upcoming 2014 general elections.
Speaking during the launch of Botswana Congress Party (BCP) parliamentary and council candidates, the BCP leader, Mr Dumelang Saleshando said the time had come that Batswana should vote a party that could bring change in the lives of Batswana.
He said BCP was ready to lead this country and had brought dignity to politics in Botswana ever since its establishment.
Mr Saleshando further said when the party was formed some people were against the idea, but they later realised that the party came up with brilliant ideas geared at bringing change to people. He said BCP was a party of choice and called on those who wanted to join not to waste time but take BCP into governance.
Mr Saleshando described Mr Mabiletsa as an able politician who gives politics a good name, as politics had been tarnished by those who go into them for wrong reasons either as a retirement home or for earning a living.
He said Mabiletsa started his political career in 1984 as a councillor but even though it was not easy he held his head high unlike others who have disappeared.
“When he believes in something, he will not turn back, and his contributions in parliamentary debates are recognisable and also takes part in different parliamentary committees,” he said. Mr Saleshando said Mr Mabiletsa is a man who is a qualified accountant and uses his knowledge often to understand government finances.
He said he took a decision to assign him the ministry of lands and housing under BCP because he is able and capacitated to lead the ministry to success.
BCP leader called on voters to make sure they vote for BCP parliamentary candidate and his councilors to continue serving the party and country.
For his part, Mr Mabiletsa said Kgatleng remains behind in development and believes this was done deliberately by the ruling party.
Mr Mabiletsa said internal roads in Mochudi are dusty and continue to pose a health hazard to people and government is doing nothing about it.
He believes that BCP is the party of choice which will definitely change the lives of Batswana who continue to suffer under the Botswana Democratic Party government.
Mr Mabiletsa said what puzzles him was that other areas continue to be developed despite government claims of lack of funds. ENDS
